Estep FAQs

MESRC is currently conducting a trial to synchronise participants' fitness activities (e.g. steps count) from various mobile application on both IOS and Android.  We are targeting to retrieve the daily steps from Pacer, Fitbit and Google Fit.

The goal of this trial is to test the reliability and efficiency of each mobile app provider. We will based on the results of the trail to decide how we would proceed with future step challenges.

Take note that the steps obtained during this trial will NOT be used for the current  Sports for Life Million Steps Challenge (SFL MSC). The steps for the SFL MSC will be automatically retrieved from Pacer via the backend system directly from Pacer.

  • Please login first to connect to Google Fit, Fitbit and Pacer. (Do try all 3 apps if you can).
  • Once, connected your steps will initially be synchronised from 1st Nov 2020.
  • After that, steps from the day before will be automatically synchronised by 8.00am daily.
  • All steps must be obtained from the mobile phone sensor or synchronised to the mobile app by external fitness trackers. Manual input by users will not be counted.

Feel free to feedback to  us via the "Support Link" or email to us at [email protected]  if you encounter any issue, or if you have any suggestions.
