  1. What is 12th MOE OLive Run 2020?

As part of MOE staff well-being programme under OLive, Ministry of Education Sports and Recreation Club (MESRC) organize the 12th MOE OLive Run event. The fees paid for this event will be donated to the President’s Challenge. Participants can also opt to donate additional amount to the President’s Challenge beside the entry fee. President’s Challenge is a movement supported by the kindness and generosity of people from all walks of life, regardless of culture, religion or family background, to help those less fortunate. President’s Challenge donations benefitted numerous programmes in social service organisations that reach out to needy children, families, seniors, disabled and other social service endeavours.

This event caters to MOE staff and their families’ members only and consist of a Run segment for competitive 5km individual and team & 10km individual race and recreational Fun Walk. Concurrently, there are fringe activities such as Dragon Boating, Mass Workout (Zumba), 3-on-3 Basketball Challenge, 3-on-3 Beach Volleyball Challenge, Learn to Lawn Bowl and Lazy River & Stingray (wave riding).

  1. What is the objective of 12th MOE OLive Run 2020?
  • To promote and support healthy lifestyle amongst MOE HQ and school staff and their families.
  • To encourage staff and family bonding.
  • To raise funds for the President’s Challenge. 
  1. When and where will the event be held?

The event will be held on Saturday, 11 July 2020 at our new venue, Singapore Sports Hub, OCBC Square.

  1. What are the type of race categories and how much is the entry fees and eligibility for registration?

Registration is limited to the first 3,000 participants and is opened to all MOE HQ staff, Independent Schools staff, NIE Trainee Teachers, Singapore Sports School, SEAB, ECDA staff and family members only. All registrations is subject to availability and are based on first-come-first-served basis.

Note:

  • Closed Categories are for MOE Staff from Schools and HQ Divisions.
  • Open Categories are for Independent School Staff, NIE Trainee Teachers, Singapore Sports School, SEAB, ECDA staff and family members.

** Mixed Team (Closed):

  • Each team to be made up of (2 males + 1 female, 1 male + 2 females or 3 females) from the same school or division.
  • Participants must sign up for the individual event before they can qualify to sign up for the mixed team event.

 

^^ The OLive Challenge Trophy:

  • This trophy will be awarded to recognise school/division with the biggest number of competitive participants.
  • To be eligible, participants will be expected to finish the competitive races of 5km & 10km within a stipulated time.
  • This award is eligible to all participating schools/divisions, including independent schools.
  1. What is the mode of registration and payment mode available?

Online registration is the only mode of registration. Participants are only allowed to register for one activity as the Run or Walk activities and fringe activities are concurrently being organized.

  1. A) Individual Online Registration:
  •  Individual Registration is for individual who are registering for themselves, family members and individuals forming team for the mixed team event.
  •  Payment is by Credit Cards.
  1. B) Group Online Registration:
  • Group Registration is for school coordinators to register 10 or more participants from the same school (MOE Schools, Independent schools), MOE HQ Division or Organization (Singapore Sports School, SEAB & ECDA) by "Importing Participants" from the race registration page.
  • After registration, Coordinators are required to download the “Group Indemnity Form" via the Download Tab and get all your registered participants to indemnify against their registration particularsAll duly signed group indemnity forms must be submitted to MESRC Office via email in pdf format/Post/Hand/Fax to: 64654530 by latest Friday, 22 May 2020.
  • Payment is only by IFAAS or NFS

Schools or Divisions who wish to sponsor their staff can register via group registration. Payment is only via IFAAS (Schools) or NFS (HQ Divisions). Approval to use the Staff Well-being Fund must be sought from your Principals or Division Head. Payment to be made to (Vendor ID: S63SS0025E, Ministry of Education Sports and Recreation Club). Please email us the print screen (screenshot) of the IFAAS or NFS approved payment transaction to enable us to update your payment status.

  1. When is the Closing Date for the registration?

Thursday, 9 April 2020 or earlier when the 3,000 maximum slots has been filled.

  1. Will I receive a refund on my registration fees if I withdrawn from the Run or Walk?

No. Once the registration has been duly processed, there will be no refund to the participant should he/she decide not to take part.

  1. Can I change my race category after I have registered?

Participants are not allowed to change their race categories after registration.

  1. Is the registration transferable?

The entry is non-transferable. The organizer has the right to disqualify any Participant found to be using another Participant’s number bib.

  1. What are the prizes awarded for the event?
  • Prizes will be awarded according to:

o Top 5 positions for all Open Categories

o Top 10 positions for all Closed Categories, including mixed team category except for Men & Women (Closed – 5km) 55 years and above will be awarded Top 6 positions

o DGE Challenge Shield

o OLive Challenge Trophy

  • Mixed team winners will be decided by the total time taken to complete the race by all three runners based on Gun Time.
  • Upon completion of race, all competitive runners will be presented finisher medals.
  • There will be no medals for Fun Walk.
  1. What will Participants be given prior to the Race Event?
  • All participants in the Competitive Race Categories will receive a goodie bag containing an official Number Tag, Run Chip, an exclusive OLive Run T-shirt and sponsors' vouchers.
  • Fun walk participants will receive a goodie bag containing an official Number Tag, an exclusive OLive Run T-shirt and sponsors' vouchers (without Run Chip).
  • Participants for fringe activities are such as HIIT Yoga, K-Kardio Dance, Pound Fitness, Dragon Boating Orientation Programme and Steamed Japanese Cupcake Workshop are not entitled to the goodie bag as no entry fees were collected for these activities.
  1. Is there a Baggage Deposit Counter?

Yes. The baggage counter will be opened from 6.30am onwards and is limited to 500 bags deposits based on first-come-first-served basis. Please deposit your bags according to your race category. Bags are deposited at your own risk and the organiser will not be liable for any loss of items.

  1. Is there a shuttle bus service provided to the event venue?

There is no shuttle bus service as the event is within proximity from Stadium MRT Station (CC6) via Circle Line. Once you reach Stadium MRT Station, take Exit A and walk directly forward towards the OCBC Square.

  1. Bus Debussing Points:

For schools providing bus transport for their staff, kindly please inform your bus drivers to debus your participants at Stadium MRT Exit B, taxi stand for bus pick-up / drop-off.

  1. Car Parking:

Car parking are available at the following locations:

  • Car Park 4, beside Kallang Leisure Park Mall – 577 lots
  1. Can I run without my number bib?

No. Participants without their number bibs will not be allowed to be on the Run route.

  1. Can I run without wearing the designated event attire?

Yes. However, participants are to be reminded to wear the number bibs which consist of essential information such as their names, bib number, emergency contact numbers and medical condition.

  1. Lightning Safety Awareness (in the event of lightning occurrence):
  • Avoid Open Areas such as fields and recreational areas, open Water such as beaches.
  • Avoid taking shelter under trees or leaning against cars or metal objects such as lamp posts or metal pillars.
  • Look for the nearest enclosed shelter, such as the main event tentage or concrete buildings to take shelter.
  1. What if I am injured during the race or otherwise unable to finish the race?

First aid stations will be located along the routes. Medical assistance will be provided to injured participants.

  1. How do I check my timing?

Timings will be posted on MESRC website on Tuesday, 14 July 2020.

  1. Are pets or any form of wheel-run modes of transport permitted?

No pets or any form of wheel-run modes of transport, including but not limited to personal mobility device (PMD), inline wheelchairs, skates, push cars, or shoes with built-in or attached rollers are allowed on the course/route other than official medical vehicles.
