In view of the current COVID-19 situation, Ministry of Education Sports and Recreation Club (MESRC) will not be organizing the 14th MOE OLive Run 2022. As a replacement, MESRC will be organizing the ‘OLive Steps Challenge for Charity 2022 Season 2’  from 1 May 2022 to 30 June 2022 to raise funds for the President’s Challenge.

Incentives award will be given to participants who meet the set criteria for 360,000 steps within the 2-month qualifying period.

  1. Participants should consult their doctor before participating in the Steps Challenge if they have any existing medical conditions.
  2. Registration is free and is limited to 5,000 participants only. Registration is subject to availability via MESRC FormSG between 4 April to 18 April 2022 and accepted on a first-come-first-served basis.

b) Participants will need to input the following information in the MESRC FormSG:

  • MOE Divisions, Individual Branches and Units / School Name
  • Staff Name (As shown in NRIC)
  • MOE Email Domains (moe.gov.sg; moe.edu.sg; schools.gov.sg)
  • Mobile Number
  • NRIC Number
  • Gender
  • Age (As of 1 January 2022)
  • Zone

Important Notes:

  • Key in your name as in NRIC
  • Select which MOE domain you will be using (e.g. moe.gov.sg; moe.edu.sg; schools.gov.sg)
  • Check your MOE Email Address (i.e. registered on FormSG MUST BE THE SAME as your email registered on your PACER app)
  • Do not use private emails to sign up (e.g. Gmail, Yahoo Mail or Hotmail, etc.
  • MESRC reserves the right to reject any registration for any missing or incorrect information.
  1. After participants have completed the online registration via FormSG, MESRC would send an email to successfully registered participants to download a Step Tracker (Pacer) from their mobile phone and to join ‘OLive Steps Challenge for Charity 2022 Season 2’ platform via invitation link or QR code to complete the registration process for this Step Challenge. The Pacer App is available for free download on Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

a) All MOE Staff (except staff from Independent or Specialised Independent Schools, Specialised Schools, NIE trainees, MOE Seconded staff, Flexi-Adjunct & Contract staff), MESRC Associate and Corporate members. This is because the budget provided by MOE to MESRC is computed based on the established posts in Government and Government-Aided schools.

b) Staff from NIE regardless of full fledge student or attached to school or division are not eligible to participate and for this award.

The OLive Steps Challenge for Charity 2022 Season 2 will officially start from 1 May 2022 to 30 June 2022.

Participants can join the challenge platform earlier to avoid congestion on the start of challenge on 1 May 2022, but the actual steps would be counted during the challenge period only from 1 May to 30 June 2022.

No. Both Steps Challenge are different. Participants who have signed up and/or finished the previous ‘Sports for Life Million Steps Challenge 2021 Season 2’ will need to join the new ‘OLive Steps Challenge for Charity 2022 Season 2’ via the Pacer App.

The collection of Full name and NRIC numbers were necessary to establish and verify staff identity to a high degree of accuracy for payment of the incentives award to staff via salary through VITAL.
No, we will not be able to establish and verify staff identity with nickname and partial NRIC numbers. VITAL requires the full name and NRIC numbers of staff to ensure that the payment is made correctly into staff salaries.

Yes, it also applies to staff with foreign identification numbers and work permit as the information is necessary to establish and verify staff identity.

We will ensure appropriate level of security to protect the data (e.g. NRIC numbers) collected from the officers. Below are some examples:

a) After the registration period is over, we will cease the retention of personal data through proper disposal.

b) When sharing we will ensure that all the documents are password-protected.

c) The password to the documents will be shared securely via separate channel (i.e. Skype, etc.).

Participants must achieve an eligible of 360,000 Total Steps during the 2-month qualifying period details as indicated below.

  1. Incentives award for participants who achieve the following no. of steps over the 2-month duration (1 May to 30 June 2022):
  • 360,000 steps:  $20.00 award

Similar to the MOE Healthy Lifestyle Incentive Award Scheme disbursement, participants who had achieved the 360,000 steps will have an award of $20.00 credited into their salary.

Participants who had earlier opted the option to donate in their FormSG registration will have their award donated on their behalf to the President’s Challenge.

  1. Team Categories Incentives: The winning 3 teams (school/division) with the total steps count clocked within school/division will have a pledge award amount donated on their behalf to the President’s Challenge:
  • 1st : $500.00
  • 2nd : $300.00
  • 3rd : $200.00
  1. Participants should ensure that all the information provided earlier to MESRC via FormSG  (e.g. Name same as in NRIC, MOE Email Address, School/Division) is accurate to avoid any delays for the processing of the incentives award.

 

  1. Please note that staff from Independent or Specialised Independent Schools, Specialised Schools, NIE trainees, MOE Seconded staff, Flexi-Adjunct & Contract staff), MESRC Associate and Corporate members are not eligible for the incentives award.

a) Participants who had earlier opted the option to donate additional amount to President’s Challenge via FormSG will receive a payment link on 9 May 2022 via email to make donation on MESRC portal.

  1. MESRC reserves the rights to amend the rules and regulations of this Challenge at any time at its sole discretion without prior notice to the participants.
  2. Participants should not install or connect to multiple devices (e.g. mobile phones, trackers, etc.) to track their steps counts. Step counts should be based on only one device to avoid unfair practices.
  3. Do not use other app to sync or track your steps count. The steps will be tracked through Pacer app only, so make sure to carry your mobile phone to track every steps.
  4. The Pacer tracker linked to your mobile phone cannot be shared or passed on to someone else (no proxies allowed) and do not use any third party apps (e.g. Pokémon Go, etc) to sync or track your step counts.
  5. MESRC will not hesitate to disqualify any participants engaging in any activity of manipulating the steps count, misuse the Pacer app, fraud etc.
