In view of the current COVID-19 situation, Ministry of Education Sports and Recreation Club (MESRC) will not be organizing the 13 th MOE OLive Run 2021. As an alternative, MESRC will be organizing the ‘OLive Steps Challenge for Charity 2021’ from 1 April 2021 to 31 May 2021 to raise funds for the President’s Challenge.

Participants who achieved the set criteria of 250,000 steps within the 2-month qualifying period, will have an award of $20.00 which will be donated on their behalf to the President’s Challenge.

  1. Participants should consult their doctor before participating in the Steps Challenge if they have any existing medical conditions.


  1. Registration is free and is limited to 6,000 participants only. Registration are subject to availability via MESRC FormSG between 18 February to 19 March 2021 and accepted on a first-come-first-served basis.

b) Participants will need to input the following information in the MESRC FormSG:

  • MESRC reserves the right to reject any registration for any missing or incorrect information.


  1. After participants have completed the online registration via FormSG, MESRC would send an email to successfully registered participants to download a Step Tracker (Pacer) from their mobile phone and to join ‘OLive Steps Challenge for Charity 2021’ platform via invitation link or QR code to complete the registration process for this Step Challenge. The Pacer App is available for free download on Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

All full-time employees of Ministry of Education (MOE) can participate in this Steps Challenge except staff from Independent or Specialised Schools, NIE trainees, MOE Seconded staff, MESRC Associate and Corporate members.

The OLive Steps Challenge for Charity 2021 will officially start from 1 April 2021 to 31 May 2021.

Participants can join the challenge platform earlier, but the actual steps would be counted during the challenge period only from 1 April 2021 to 31 May 2021.

No. Both Steps Challenge are different. Participants who have signed up and/or finished the previous ‘Sports for Life Million Steps Challenge 2020’ and ‘MOE Pacer Steps Challenge 2020’ will need to join the new ‘OLive Steps Challenge for Charity 2021’ via the Pacer App.

Please note that the steps from the previous ‘Sports for Life Million Steps Challenge 2020’ and ‘MOE Pacer Steps Challenge 2020’ will not be counted or continued for the new ‘OLive Steps Challenge for Charity 2021’

The collection of Full name and last 4-characters of NRIC numbers were necessary to establish and verify participants identity to a high degree of accuracy for payment of the award which will be donated on participant’s behalf towards the President’s Challenge

Yes, it also applies to staff with foreign identification numbers and work permit as the information is necessary to establish and verify participants identity.

We will ensure appropriate level of security to protect the data collected from the participants. B

a) After the registration period is over, we will cease the retention of personal data through proper disposal.

b) When sharing we will ensure that all the documents are password protected.

c) The password to the documents will be shared securely via separate channel (i.e. Skype, etc.).
