As part of MOE staff well-being programme under OLive, Ministry of Education Sports and Recreation Club (MESRC) will launch a fitness challenge platform, entitled ‘MOE Pacer Steps Challenge 2020’ to encourage MOE staff to keep fit as part of their healthy lifestyle which can also be done through home-based exercises. Please note that this is MOE Own Steps Challenge not the ‘National Steps Challenge 2020’. Staff are encouraged to participate in this challenge – Move more and sit less!

  • To encourage staff to stay healthy and active despite the challenges posed by COVID-19.
  • Staff to take ownership of their personal health and well-being.
  • 2-months challenge period (Monday, 15 June 2020 – Friday, 14 August 2020)
  • Registration is Free; however, registration is limited to 4,000 participants who successfully registered in the MESRC registration portal.
  • Early bird registration for first 2,700 participants will be entitled to MOE OLive Run T-shirts.
  • All staff employed by MOE is eligible to participate in this event except MESRC Associate and Corporate members.
  • Register for this event via MESRC website at www.mesrc.net starting from Monday, 15 June 2020.

Note: Staff should consult their doctors before participating in the Challenge if they have existing medical conditions.

  • After registration is completed at MESRC website, participant needs to download a Step Tracker (Pacer) from their mobile phone to complete the registration process to take part in this Step Challenge.
  • Pacer app can be used on iPhone and Android Phone.
  • An Email Notification will be sent to every successful participant who registered at MESRC website, guiding them to input the ‘Invitation link’ or QR code to complete the registration process for the Steps Challenge.

There will also be a pdf copy of “MOE Pacer Steps Challenge 2020 Step-by-Step Guide” which can be downloaded.

    • Incentives Rewards for Participants:

Once MESRC has verified the authenticity of the results, we would issue the following incentives to eligible participants:

  • Early Bird Registration for first 2,700 participants will be entitled to MOE OLive Run T-shirts.
  • $10 HPB eVoucher to participants who achieve the set criteria of 200,000 steps within the 2 months qualifying period limited to 4,000 participants.

 

    • Step Count Criteria:

Participants must achieve a minimum of 200,000 Total Steps over the 2-months qualifying period to be eligible for the incentive rewards, details as indicated below.

  • MESRC will notify the 2,700 early bird registered participants via email to collect their MOE OLive Run T-shirts at MESRC office.
  • All eligible recipients of MOE Pacer Steps Challenge 2020 will be notified via email of their rewards for the $10 HPB eVoucher if they meet the Total Steps of 200,000 within the 2-months qualifying period. MESRC will send notification email on the $10 HPB eVoucher redemption and usage guide including FAQ link to HPB websites.

Note: There will be no exchange of T-shirt at the point of collection. Collection of Event T-shirt will be based on first-come-first-served basis.  When a size is not available, the next available size will be issued.

You will need:

  • A smartphone (Android or iOS)
  • The Pacer app
  • MOE Pacer Steps Challenge 2020’s invite link, invite QR code provided by MESRC

 

Step 1 - Join in for MOE Pacer Steps Challenge 2020, search tab via invitation link or scan QR code

Step 2 - Download or update to the latest version of the Pacer app

(compatible with iPhone & android phones)

Step 3 - Create a new profile in Pacer app.

Note:

  • Name: Must be the same name registered at MOE Pacer Steps Challenge registration portal at MESRC website
  • Email Address: Must be the same MOE email account registered at MESRC website (i.e. moe.gov.sg; moe.edu.sg; schools.gov.sg)

Step 4 - Once you have successfully downloaded Pacer and created an account, the app will use your invite link to guide you through the rest of the join process.

Step 5 - You have successfully joined MOE Pacer Steps Challenge 2020’s platform and you can start clocking your steps from now onwards until the end of the 2-months Challenge (15 June to 14 August 2020).

    • Steps will be tracked through Pacer on your smartphone, so make sure to grab your phone to track every step and stay at the top of the Leaderboard.
    • The Data Centre Tab in Pacer app will always allow you to see today’s steps, yesterday’s steps, and average steps month to date for everyone in the challenge.
    • Remember to launch Pacer every 1-2 days to ensure your challenge activity data is up to date.

 

 

  • We’ve focused our Pacer app on phone-based step counting. So, it is best to track your steps through Pacer on your smartphone.  
  • Pacer syncs with a limited number of devices and apps currently.
  • Pacer iOS Apple Health & Apple Watch – Yes
    • Pacer can sync with Apple Health directly, and by extension wearables that can sync to Apple Health (Garmin, etc.) Pacer can pull steps from Apple Health to track with an Apple Health or other Apple Health compatible device. Pacer can also send steps to Apple Health as a step source.
  • Pacer Android & Fitbit – Yes
    • Android Pacer can sync with Fitbit devices directly. You can pull steps from your Fitbit into Pacer to track your steps using your Fitbit device.

  • HPB eVouchers are electronic vouchers issued in Singapore currency, and issued in $10 denominations.
  • Each HPB eVoucher can be used in a single purchase transaction at any of the participating merchants’ outlets. Any unused amount from the eVoucher will be forfeited. Multiple HPB eVouchers can be used in a single purchase transaction. Screenshots of eVouchers will not be accepted.


  • Yes, HPB eVouchers will expire at 11:59 pm of the expiry date indicated on each eVoucher.
     
  • No, you cannot redeem your HPB eVoucher nor request for a replacement once it has expired.
  • If the value of the eVoucher does not cover the full cost of the goods or services purchased, you must pay the balance in whichever payment methods acceptable by the merchant.
     

No, HPB eVouchers that have been activated, accidentally or otherwise, will not be refunded. Please present your eVoucher only when the cashier is attending to you.

  • No, you will not be able to get a refund once you have presented the eVoucher to the cashier

 

No, HPB eVouchers cannot be exchanged for cash.

  • No, HPB eVouchers are non-transferrable.
     
  • HPB eVouchers cannot be used for the purchase of lottery, cigarettes, alcoholic items and pre-paid cards.
  • The use of HPB eVouchers is subject to terms and conditions of the participating merchants.
  • HPB eVouchers will not be accepted if obtained from unauthorised sources.
  • HPB reserves the right to, at any time, without prior notice or liability to you, make changes to the eVouchers awarded to or redeemed by you.
  • Step 1: View the eVoucher when ready to pay at the cashier point
  • Step 2: Confirm with the cashier BEFORE proceeding. Then click “Use Now”.
  • Step 3: Countdown timer starts. Show your screen to the merchants for scanning. Click “Done” after the transaction.

Thank you for registering for the MOE Pacer Steps Challenge 2020.

To check if your account in your pacer mobile app is synchronised with your registration at https://www.mesrc.net,  please login and proceed to "My Account"->"My Pacer". You will see your Pacer ID if you are synchronised, otherwise check the following to resolve the issue.

If you have installed the pacer mobile app, check that you have join our team challenge (most common issue why we are not able to synchronise)

  • Login into the pacer app
  • Goto  "Explore" link at the bottom right corner of your app, and then select the "Corporate" tab.
  • If our challenge is not listed, enter the invitation code "ad71602" and join the challenge.


If you have registered with your Facebook account, go to your pacer app profile setting and connect with Email.

  • Please disconnect from Facebook after you have connected with your email.
  • Refer to attached pdf on “How to create MOE Email in Pacer app for those who had earlier connected with Facebook”


If you have registered with your email,  do the following:  

  • On the Pacer mobile app, click "Me" menu link at the bottom left corner of the screen.
  • Go to the top right corner of the screen and click on the "Gear" menu link.
  • Click on the registered email address. 
  • Update your email address to your official MOE email address (i.e. moe.gov.sg/moe.edu.sg/schools.gov.sg) if you have registered using your private email such as gmail, yahoo, or hotmail etc.
  • Verify that the email is not misspelled. (eg.  [email protected] or [email protected]) and that it is identical to  the email registered on MESRC registration portal.
  • Refer to attached pdf on “How to amend Full name & Email in Pacer app”

If you have not install the pacer mobile app and join the challenge, do the following:

*No step count will be lost unless you create a new account with a new email address.

  • HPB eVouchers will be credited directly into your e-Wallet. Open your Healthy 365 app and
    click on “MY REWARDS” to view your eVoucher in the eWallet.
